How It Works

Red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation, is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to support the body’s natural processes.

These wavelengths penetrate the skin to reach deeper layers of tissue, where they are absorbed by the mitochondria, often referred to as the “energy centres” of our cells. This process helps to enhance cellular energy production and support optimal cell function.

In simple terms, red light therapy helps to restore a natural element many of us are missing due to modern indoor lifestyles and limited sunlight exposure, particularly in the UK.

Red light therapy is designed to be both relaxing and restorative. The gentle warmth of the light feels similar to sitting in soft sunlight, creating a calming environment for both body and mind.

Sessions are comfortable and require no downtime, allowing you to continue with your day immediately afterwards. Over time, consistent treatments may contribute to visible and physical improvements.

At Frequency Healing, we use a full-body device featuring 720 LEDs, delivering precise wavelengths of 630 nm and 660nm (red light) and 810nm, 830nm and 850nm (near-infrared). For more focused areas, my PowerMini Panel, a 40 LED portable device is also available as an add-on which delivers 660nm (red light) and 850nm (near-infrared)

Exposure of the skin is important for optimal results. Depending on your treatment area, you may be positioned lying down, seated, or standing comfortably in front of the device.

Sessions typically last up to 30 minutes. During this time, you can relax, meditate, listen to music, or simply enjoy the peaceful setting.
