VUV Light Therapy Device for Skin Well-being
The MiraMate Ray Gun I use is a modern VUV light therapy device created to support general skin wellness in a gentle and targeted way. It is designed for use on the surface of the skin and is also commonly used on pets, plants and even small areas of household mould.
The device emits a very narrow band of light between 221 nm and 223 nm. This type of light is known for interacting only with the outermost layers of the skin. The dead skin cells on the surface naturally absorb VUV light, which means the deeper living layers are not exposed.
VUV light is associated with stimulating natural processes in the skin, it encourages the formation of small amounts of beneficial compounds such as nitric oxide and ozone at the surface. These compounds are often linked to cleansing effects and general skin vitality.
The Ray Gun creates a tiny ionisation layer between the gas tube and the skin, and this interaction is part of how the device delivers its effect. When an earthing pad is placed on the opposite side of the target area, the current can be increased, which may help the light’s influence reach slightly deeper layers.

The Ray Gun can be used on people, pets and plants, and many users also find it helpful for tidying small patches of mould on walls. For people, it is often used as part of a supportive routine for various skin concerns, including:
